PUPPY SCHOOL

Aside from breeding, training dogs is one of my great passions in life. We are pleased to offer our Puppy School program for interested buyers. Puppies will stay with us for an additional 4 or 8 weeks to work on essential skills to be the best companion. Generally this program is geared towards skills for companionship, but we are happy to make adjustments for those interested in a show/sport foundation. This program is ideal for those who want to skip the struggles of crate and potty training but still take home a puppy while it is still an adorable ball of fluff and silliness.

About the Program

Puppy School is a great add-on for puppy buyers looking for a head start on their puppy's training and socialization. We have limited spaces for Puppy Pre-School and Puppy Kindergarten, so if you are interested in this program, please let us know ASAP. For puppies being enrolled in either program, the buyer must pay for the puppy in full after it has been selected for them, and payment for the training program is due one week prior to the scheduled pick up. These programs are geared towards pet puppies, but adjustments can be made if a buyer is interested in a foundation geared towards dog sports. Puppy School is ideal for those who wish to bring home a dog while it is still a puppy, but has been started on all the necessary skills to be an excellent companion.

PRE-SCHOOL: $2,900

Our Puppy Pre-School is a 4 week program that is ideal for those who still want to welcome home a puppy while it is still quite young. These puppies will be started on the following skills:

Potty training
Crate training
Sit, down, and luring concepts
Recall (come)
Walking on a leash
Beginnings of no jumping and no biting
Exposure to grooming
Additional socialization

In this program, we are laying the foundation for a great dog, but it is up to the new owner to continue to build upon the dog's training. For most people, the biggest benefit of Puppy Pre-School is skipping the screaming during crate training and accidents during initial potty training.

KINDERGARTEN: $5,500

Our Puppy Kindergarten is an 8 week program that is more extensive and provides a more solid foundation for those looking for the absolute best head start available. Our goal in Puppy Kindergarten is to develop overall house manners and a polite and patient attitude. These puppies work to develop the following skills:

Potty training
Crate training
Sit and down on verbal commands
Recall (come)
Sit/down stay
Introduction to place (stay on a dog bed)
Walking on a loose leash
Beginnings of no jumping
No biting
Exposure to grooming
Additional socialization

This program is more in depth than our 4 week program, but is still not able to achieve perfection. Think of the 8 week program like a solid foundation and the framework of a great home. The building blocks are good, but the home will still need insulation, electricity, and drywall before it is finished.

K-12 PROGRAM

These plans are ideal for those looking for the best of the best - dogs that stay longer will be polished with their training and make wonderful companions for those busy families who want a dog but don't necessarily have the time to devote to a young puppy. These dogs will pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test and/or UKC Socialized Pet Obedience Test prior to going home to prove proficiency in all basic good-dog skills.
