About Ubbe
Ubbe is an incredible outcross male living in the Netherlands. His sire is a Belgian Malinois and his dam is a White Swiss Shepherd X Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute. Ubbe has a wonderful social and stable character with above-average working drives. Ubbe's mixed ancestry offers new genes to the White Swiss Shepherd breed, while also maintaining the physical and temperamental characteristics that make White Swiss Shepherds.

About Gemma
Gemma is a lovely import of Russia, who has a great carefree spirit and is completely confident in every situation. Gemma has low toy drive but has a very high food drive, which still makes her easy to work with. Gemma is a granddaughter of the very famous male, MBIS BISS WW'14 MCH GCH Waroggi Maitreya IPO1, and superb foundation bitch of Rus Pride kennel, FBBSI WW'13 vVWW'17 MCH Baltic Beauty Crystal Siberian Wolf BH OKD1.

ABOUT THE LITTER

I am very excited for the arrival of our first outcross pairing between Ubbe and Gemma. The White Swiss Shepherd breed has an average COI of 26%, which essentially means that the dogs are as genetically related as full siblings (where the parents had no relation whatsoever). While inbreeding levels can be helpful for setting traits and help set apart one breed from another, they also increase chances for recessive genetic illnesses and leave us without options to breed away from such problems, except by doing outcrosses to add new genes into the breed. Prior to the advent of closed studbooks and dog shows, animal breeders used to bring in a completely new line every few generations to improve health and vigor. However, this has not been the normal since kennel clubs came about, and our dog breeds have suffered as a result. Thankfully, we are able to get blank registrations on dogs without pedigrees so long as they meet the breed standard. I am hopeful some pups from this combination will adhere closely enough to the standard to be given such registrations when they mature.
We expect this combination to produce puppies suitable for sports and active companionship. Their expected COI is half that of the purebred White Swiss Shepherd average, which greatly reduces their risk of inheriting two copies of any recessive illness, regardless of whether we have a test for such diseases. In Gemma's previous White Swiss Shepherd litters, we have had puppies with exceptional characters--high sociability, excellent stability, and medium-high energy and drive levels.
Only one pup was born from this combination--a gorgeous and large (561g to be exact) male of silver coloring. We hope that he can contribute to the next generation.
